Tonight, there are approximately 14,000 in the Greater Phoenix area without a place to call home. 5809 of them are children. We at Mark-Taylor find this unacceptable. As a builder and manager of apartment communities, Mark-Taylor has joined in the fight against homelessness.
You can help.
Support us as we prepare to spend the night in a cardboard box, at Cardboard City at Scottsdale Stadium on Oct 19. We are seeking donations that will go directly to Family Promise which serves as an emergency homeless shelter in the Valley. Family Promise is recognized as the leading volunteer-driven nonprofit providing services to homeless families, and is the only shelter in Arizona able to accept pets. Holding on to a pet is critical to kids who have lost everything else, including their homes, their toys and their friends. Within eight weeks 75 percent of the families hosted by Family Promise obtain housing, helping them achieve sustainable independence.
Let's create more success stories together. Click here to donate.
More about Cardboard City at Scottsdale Stadium:
Cardboard City at Scottsdale Stadium is a fundraising event dedicated to creating awareness of homeless issues facing Arizona families. In the months and weeks leading up to Cardboard City at Scottsdale Stadium, members of the community, civic groups, places of worship and youth organizations are working to raise awareness and funds. On October 19 at 5:00pm, these groups will convene in a demonstration of solidarity and support for homeless families by spending the night in a card board box.
